Senior Process Safety Specialist (8/10/10)

Leading oilfield chemicals producer has immediate opening for an experienced process safety engineer.

Experience Needed: Successful candidate will have at least 8-10 years experience in dealing with process safety issues in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of chemical manufacturing operations needed. Should have knowledge of chemical processing hazards and applicable safeguard measures. Must have good knowledge of PSM regulations and compliance. Should have a working knowledge of industrial fire protection codes and regulations and of generally accepted engineering practices related to process safety. Must have good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Duties: This individual will function as an in-house consultant for the chemical operations both domestic and internationally and will travel to company offices and plants as needed.

Education Required: Engineering degree, either chemical or mechanical.

Compensation: Salary range, $80K-$100K depending on experience. Excellent benefits.

As an experienced safety professional, you will develop and implement the division’s HSE Management System procedures to assure the highest possible degree of employees’ safety.

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, the selected candidate will plan, utilize and support field operations by educating both managers and employees in work site safety practices and regulatory compliance. Specific duties will include ensuring all employees have current company and customer-mandated certificates, schedules training as required, and provides documentation of completion; administer the division’s random drug and alcohol testing program; inspect facilities/work sites to determine corrective or preventative measures; and support operations managers in the investigation and reporting of accidents and injuries. The HSE Director will manage HSE employees within a matrix organizational structure together with applicable Business Unit and Product Line Managers. The incumbent will also prepare and administer an annual budget for US operations. Excellent communications skills are essential as you will represent the organization in the community and at industry functions, meet with customers to present company and division safety programs, and develop customer-specific HSE plans.

Environmental Protection Specialist (1/4/10)

Located in the Coastal Bend, come enjoy the beach, birding and saltwater fishing. Corpus Chrisiti Army Depot's mission is to Overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, helicopter engines and components for all services and foreign military sales. The depot serves as a training base for active-duty Army, National Guard, Reserve and foreign military personnel. In addition, Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) provides worldwide on-site maintenance service, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support.

Duties: Incumbent will serve as a Special Environmental Advocate for a Production Directorate and will ensure compliance requirements are met. Multimedia areas, including air, water, materials and waste will be overseen IAW an ISO 14001 environmental management system in place. The advocate will serve, as a generalist, to interface between environmental office and the production artisans, management and contractors in the industrial shops. Work requires guiding environmental process owners to achieve objectives and full conformance to relevant regulatory requirements. Identifies operational problems and improves productivity for optimum effectiveness; does so by recommending changes within allowable cost and established policies.
