Welcome to the Coastal Bend Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers. The purpose of this site is to exchange Health & Safety information to our membership and others who are interested in the reduction of injuries and illnesses.
The Coastal Bend Chapter began in 1944 as the South Texas Safety Engineers in the Industrial Section of the Greater Corpus Christi Safety Council. Its purpose was “to promote the Arts and Sciences connected with Engineering in relation to the preservation of life and property.” The Coastal Bend Council was chartered under the American Society of Safety Engineers on April 1, 1951. The Coastal Bend Chapter meets once a month at each of its two locations: Del Mar College West Campus Public Safety Building in Corpus Christi, and in differing locations in Victoria.
